This setion is to track so me of the need things I have been doing in my IT career. I have been doing the Technology thing for about 8 years now and it is amazing some of the things I have gotten to do.

Just a little geneology web precence that never really took off. I got the mane and the page up but he coded the page poorly and I just didn't have th etime to devote to recoding it.
Wow, when people want a web presence they don't have any idea of what it will really cost. Getting a serve and a name is easy but now what. The next thing I usaully hear is why isn't it on Google.
The first job I was fired from. Did a plethora of things like 2 office moves and helped the Art Director with the web design stuff when the other web guy quit.
Once I graduated college I decided to take 6 months off work. During that time I spun up my own web site www.aaronsink.com.
This was the first time I had to set everything up myself. When I say everything I mean it. I had to get the domain name, the server space, do the designing, develope the content, create the graphics and teach myself CSS, PHP and mySQL; three new web tools.
Yes, I even did some desktop and home network support.
This was the first time I tried to do a freelance web project. This all and all was a small sucess but more a taste of how my freelance projects will go.
My buddy asked me if I could do a web site. He would take care of the administation and setup I would just have to do the coding.
The conclusion was I finally got 1/2 the money 9-12 months after the project was finished. It really wasn't worth my time to do.
6 months in a red shirt is enough for me. I sold hardware and software to the general population in a retail envirment. What a BS after college job.
This was another one of those jobs where I know more than the averge employee and because of that I was able to use technonlogy a little better than most employees. my title was Secratry 3 but I did much much more. The most notable things I did was analyse their applicant database and make some simple changes so the administation could track test results and schedule more efficently. I also applied my web skills to improve communuication between divisions. To achieve this I create a recruiting intranet where HR people could click on a shortcut on their desktop to see results that I published. This kept everyone on the same page because there was a small problem with which was the most current list. I used MS Access as the Database and coded in HTML and JavaScript. The graphics programs I used was Corel Draw. My duration here was 2002 -2004.
I started my IT career at Angelina's restraunt during 2000-2002. There I was the Web Designer for www.crabcake.com. The languages I used was HTML, and javaScript. While working there I was responsible for creating graphics, coding, testing, and uploading file. Some very important things I took away from that job was cross browser compatibility, file structure and the difference between a linux server environment and a windows server environment.
I know I seem pretty random in the jobs I do but there is a bigger picture I am going for. Contact me if something perks your interest and I would be glad to discuss.
